What does her Majesty the Queen Elisabeth and Alan Carr have in common?
And its not the same tailor.
No – they both have been to the Burnley Mechanics.
The Queen opened this charity funded and operated venue in the heart of Burnley in 1986 and Alan Carr was one of its famous performers besides Eddi Izzard, Patty Smith and John Bishop -just to name a few.
If you are stopping over in Burnley or even Lancashire, a visit to the recently refurbished venue is a must.
Operated by Burnley Leisure, a charity trust with the vision to improve arts and leisure in the community, the grade two listed buildings now boasts a number of performance areas and is concentrating on supporting and showcasing local talent. The Front Room features new talent while touring shows can be most likely be seen in The Auditorium.
Enjoy a G&T from Burnley’s largest gin selection, over 80 Gins are available, and listen to the Steinway piano in The Lounge Bar before heading to a show.
