If you are in love with food, there is no better place than the Stonyhurst college food festival. The place itself is stunning by its architecture and history.

Over the weekend of Friday 21st – Sunday 23rd April, it’s all about the Great British Food Festival with a mix of exciting ingredients that will entertain you and tickle your taste buds.

Start the foodie weekend on Friday with free entry for all children on that day! Otherwise, tickets start at £5 for children and £7 for adults, with access to grounds and gardens, discounted tours of the college, free parking, free chef demos, live music all day and free circus skills workshop.

The event is coming back in Stonyhurst College to be part of the Great British Food Festival’s tour with a selection of crafts and gifts stalls, fun activities for kids, Top Chefs demos, stir in a cake competition (register online and have a chance to win a Kenwood spiralizer!) and the famous Men Vs Food. All that topped with Live Music for a great family day out. The recipe for the weekend includes some of the best British producers, stalls of exotic cuisines such as Thai, Indian or Mexican as well as local foods like pulled pork, prime steaks, Ostrich burgers and sausages. If you are thirsty, there will be also real ale and wine bars.

Ingredients for the foodie weekend:

Chefs Demos – Old Great Hall upstairs in the College

Top Chefs from local restaurants will show off their skills on stage and give you the best advice to make your dishes even more delicious! Schedule here

The Challenge stage – Men Vs Food

Food can also come up with challenges to push the public to their eating limits… Pick a competition and get on stage to show what you have in your stomach by eating as much sausage as you can at the 606 Sausage challenge, by entering the chilli Challenge, or as a team of two, take on a mammoth sweet treat (with a little twist). Find the whole schedule here.

If you are a budding baker, why don’t you enter the Cake off? Apply here and get a chance to be crowned! Otherwise, just taste and judge cakes from the amateur bakers (this is a yummy activity, don’t you think?). Find more information here.

Bake Stage

We’ve heard that a top baker from the Great British Bake Off competition will host the Bake Stage with demos throughout the day, stay tuned for more information!

Artisan Talks and Markets

Local producers will open our curiosity (and our appetite) by telling the story of their produce on stage and by selling tasty treats. Lots of free tasters will be given there.

Kids’ Corner and Cookery classes

Get your children from 3-13 years old in a fun cooking class for about 30-40 minutes! They will learn how to cook whilst you can relax and watch them getting their hands dirty for some delicious treats you can take home and eat. Lessons are not included in he entrance ticket price. It costs £3.50 per child – Click here to book now.

If the cooking lesson is not enough to entertainment your kids, there are plenty of fun workshops at the festival throughout the weekend.
